Muhlenberg South Middle BandsDear
Parent/Guardian,
As you know, the school year is quickly drawing to a close.
The Muhlenberg South Band Program has had a very successful year, and we have
one last event that involves each of our bands.
The annual Spring Concert is scheduled for Thursday
evening, May 6, at 6:30 PM. As with the Christmas Concert, it will
be held at Muhlenberg South Middle School. The concert will involve the 6th
Grade Band, the Middle School 7/8 Concert Band, and the 7/8 Middle
School Percussion Ensemble. The concert will last approximately one hour,
and is free to the public. Students are asked to be in place for warm-up no
later than 6:15. The 6th Grade will meet in the gym, and the 7/8 Band will meet
in the band room. If a student needs to leave once his/her performance is over
(ball games, plays, etc.), please let us know and that will be fine. As parents
ourselves, we are very aware that our students are involved in other worthwhile
activities.
All students are required to participate, and the performance
will complete all grade requirements for the semester. If a student is unable to
attend, please contact me as soon as possible. I will then give an alternate
assignment. Dress should be nicer clothes, and please try to avoid blue jeans
and tennis shoes if at all possible.
If you are not aware, our 7/8 Band received a Distinguished
Rating from each of the three stage judges at the KMEA District 3 Concert
Festival. This is the highest rating that a band can receive.
NOTE: Current 8th grade students
are reminded that the 2010 MCHS Marching Band Orientation/Meet-and-Greet will be
scheduled for May in the Muhlenberg County High School West Campus Commons.
All students and parents/guardians are required to attend if your band student(s)
is participating. The exact date and time will be announced at the concert. The
Muhlenberg County High School Band will be entering its second season, and
promising things are on the horizon. Please make use of our website at

wealth of information on the site, as well as an updated calendar.
